Bonanza Golf & Country Club
About
An excellent course in a cool, rustic setting
Despite a name apparently inspired by the owner's fondness for old TV western series, Bonanza Golf & Country Club is a high-quality golf course situated in the in a picturesque valley close to the Khao Yai National Park, approximately two hours northeast of Bangkok. The fairways are generally lined with large trees, bunkers are strategically placed, and some large elevation changes and several large reservoirs come into play.
The course caters to golfers of all levels, and the surrounding area is home to large, impressive mansions, including one that is owned by Thailand's ex-prime minister. The Bonanza Golf Lodge provides comfortable 2-star rustic accommodations. Visitors should be prepared for chilly temperatures, especially at night and early in the morning due to the higher altitude.
Overall, Bonanza Golf & Country Club is an excellent option for those visiting the Khao Yai region.
Reviews
Clubhouse very old, looks like not very maintained, no driving range, no pro shop.
The course is very dry, green full of sand, but some views are beautiful. Caddy didn’t speak English so communication reduced. At the end I had to pay an extra tips because she didn’t understand I already paid on my voucher. So it’s not for the price but for the form, be sure if the client took a package, everybody understood, caddy & clubhouse.Course is okay, but the whole place looks rundown
This is another golf course in Khao Yai now operated by Koreans. The clubhouse feels quite neglected, with no proper pro shop and outdated locker rooms. The course itself has a generally uncared-for vibe. The carts are old, the cart paths are in poor condition, and while the course layout isn’t bad, the fairways are overrun with weeds, though playable. The bunkers are average, and the greens are acceptable but quite slow. On a dry day, carts were restricted to the paths, which added some inconvenience. During the high season, the course tends to get crowded with Korean golfers. There isn’t much water on the course, as many water hazards and streams have dried up. Facilities are lacking—showers only had cold water, and shampoo or shower gel was minimal, provided in small packets. Towels were wrapped in plastic, and there doesn’t seem to be a proper pro shop, so basic items like tees or socks aren’t available.Excellent and scenic course
A very exciting mountain golf course in beautiful Khao Yai with superb views of beautiful lakes framed by distant mountains.Course Info
