A once-great course that's seen better days
Located in the mountains near Khao Yai National Park, between two valleys, Khao Yai Country Club is a high quality layout with stunning views of the surrounding hills. While the resort has seen better days—many of the buildings and condominiums abandoned and derelict—and the maintenance of the course is not up to par, the course remains popular among enthusiasts of well-designed golf layouts and tourists looking for an affordable round.
The undulating fairways of the course provide a stiff challenge, while the cliffs and rolling hills offer a breathtaking backdrop of the Khao Yai region. The gently undulating holes follow the natural contouring of the land, sometimes complemented by additional earth mounding and a light sprinkling of mature trees. While the bunkering may seem modest for a Nicklaus design, you'll be lucky to avoid reaching for your sand wedge at least once or twice.
Holes 10 and 11, located in one of the valleys, are two of the best back-to-back holes in the Khao Yai area. Typical of a Nicklaus design, large bunker arrays, including both green-side and fairway locations, require precise shot-making for golfers to score well. It's a real shame that the course condition currently varies between poor and adequate, because this course deserves better.
Facilities at the golf club are rather basic and require upgrading, and the onsite golf resort and many of the golf club facilities remain unfinished. Despite these limitations, a day at Khao Yai Golf Club is still a fun experience for golfers, with the stunning mountain scenery adding to the enjoyment.
However, checking on the golf course's exact status and availability near preferred playing dates is highly recommended, and alternative accommodation may be necessary when staying in the area.

Beautiful location and nice design. Greens ok, but fairways are rock hard and lack grass many places. The worst thing about this golf course is that they allow groups of 5 and 6 players. And of course that makes the play extremely slow!Course Info
