Sir James Resort & Country Club
About
Very attractive parkland course offering good scoring opportunities
The Sir James Country Club is a well-designed parkland golf course located conveniently on the way from Bangkok to Khao Yai National Park. Often referred to as the Forest Hills golf resort, it's a course set up to be enjoyed by golfers of all skill levels. The course is well-maintained and boasts several flower arrangements, small waterfalls, lakes, and creeks, making it one of the most attractive golf courses in Thailand.
The course is surrounded by tightly interlaced wooded hills that provide a stunning backdrop for almost every hole. Flower beds, hedges, rockeries, and water hazards contribute to the garden-like quality of the layout, while the fairways are flanked by semi-rough and thick vegetation and a variety of trees. While not the most difficult of courses, it has enough water, bunkering, dog-legging holes, and elevation changes to test all aspects of your game
The course has pleasant elevation changes that sometimes produce unique holes. The par-5 3rd is a tempting but tricky eagle chance that requires a downhill drive over a ravine and a long iron shot to the green, while the signature par-3 15th hole plays downhill to a water-surrounded green. The challenging par-4 18th is a great closing hole that play across water from an elevated tee and features an elevated green in front of the clubhouse.
The clubhouse has a lovely veranda overlooking the course, where players can relax after their game. The air-conditioned restaurant on the terrace serves meals all day, and the chef specializes in steaks, including pork, chicken, or even fish steaks. With more cooling breezes and less humidity than Bangkok, playing Sir James Country Club in Khao Yai makes for a great choice on any Khao Yai golf holiday.
Reviews
A lovely mature Parkland course in average condition
Very beautiful course, meandering around several lakes with the mountains as a back up. Course is in okay condition, the fairway grass is a bit long but quite nice to hit off and the greens are slow but true. I would happily play here againA little rough around the edges, but very playable
A parkland-style course with interesting challenges and a slightly quirky design in a stunning countryside setting. Mature trees flank most fairways. The course condition was OK, but the greens were slow. The male caddie was friendly, very polite, with above-average English.Nice Course
One of the closer courses to Bangkok in pretty good condition although does not drain well after heavy rain. Good place to stay and play golf.Course Info
